Lisa's Story - getting away from the problem estate |
Life started off well, after the end of my marriage I was given a property on an estate which wasn’t a good place to live due to drugs, violence, alcohol and antisocial behaviour. I felt like there was no way out, and the council couldn’t help.
I was made intentionally homeless and ended up in a hostel where there were problems with drugs and thieves, so I moved in with my mam. A council worker suggested AMRP’s relocation scheme. The application took a while but AMRP were helpful.
Now that I’m settled in County Durham, my mother is also moving to the area with AMRP using the relocations scheme, and I’m planning to go back to university to continue my Criminology degree.
